Having been in construction for most of my life, I can tell you many I worked with wasted their time and money on college only to end up working next to me.

Without a plan, without a goal in a field which offers a future, many would be better off learning a trade which will lead to a good paying job. So many wander off and get degrees in something worthless with no prospects.

My father was a tradesman all his working life. All five of his sons worked with him growing up, playing gopher and what have you, hauling bundles of shingles up a ladder on our shoulders. None of us followed in his footsteps, hehehe. Maybe that was his plan?
