Nothing new about that. I have dealt with it for years.
As a subcontractor on government construction projects I am often told how many of the right kind of minorities I must have on the job. Cities like Minneapolis and St. Paul have their own Department of Civil Rights and they can be real pain in the ash to a white business owner like me.
Will not withstand SCOTUS. It is clearly institutionalized racism. That is unconstitutional.
And there is precedent.
I think Hubert Humphrey was the one who said if the 1964 civil rights act ever required a “quota” he would eat his hat. I guess he ate it a long time ago methaphorically.
Obviously the backers of that bill are a bunch of right wing homophobes, and need to be called out as such. And what about Muslims?
What if you were black as the ace of spades, but were Jamaican or Haitian? They are not African Americans.

What Illinois has done is classical fascism.
Basically any company that locates to a bright blue state DESERVES whatever treatment it gets.
Hard to feel sorry for any victims, they could have listened to our side, rather than trust their Harvard MBAs when they said crap like “Don’t move to Texas, they’re just a bunch of gun-toting yahoos”.
