It is aways confusing for the media when the aircraft is a turboprop as the power plant is a turbine engine but one that spins a prop. As for the actual designation, the Epic LT is the 'kit built' version while the FAA Certification model is the E1000.

The Pratt&Whitney Canada PT6A engine is a very popular and well regarded engine, found on many of the top single-engine GA & Ag aircraft like the Pilatus 12, Air Tractor(s) and Piaggios.
