This was back during the 2016 election.
A FISA warrant was supposed to be used only for foreign spies or terrorists that posed a real threat to the USA. A FISA warrant allows a “two hop” surveillance on the subject of the warrant. I still do not understand why politicians or media people on our side have not made this clear. An illegal warrant allowing surveillance on a single person, Carter Page in this case, is bad enough. The two hop nature of every FISA warrant very probably meant that every communication of Trump’s team had its correspondence, past, present and future (until the warrant ran out) surveilled. Trump must have run one of the cleanest campaigns of all time.
