The Bushes were arrogant in their beliefs in themselves, and their angst - regarding Trump - was not about any loss to the nation, but the personal loss to themselves, that Jeb could not continue their dynastic political ambitions.

I liked Pat. I thought she never got the accolades she deserved.

Voted for Trump the first time around; am thrilled with him; can't wait to vote for him in 2020. However, we have to be fair to Barbara Bush. Donald Trump was scathingly critical of Dubya over the Iraq War and was brutally critical of Jeb during the primary. He took personal shots at both of them frequently. It's asking too much of a mother to forget that.

She didn’t like Sara Palin either. She once said “Sara should go back to Alaska and Stay there!”.

If Trump wants to bring this country Together, he should unite the country with the truth about the Bush and Clinton crimes.

How about spoiled because she didn’t know what to do when she didn’t get her way.

Trump does have a way of doing that. Interesting how everyone, nearly every time who has came at Trump and attacked him, limps away with their tails between their legs!
Trump does have a way with his enemies, and the Bushes were clearly fell into that category.

No. Liberalism. The Bush web is full of it.

I agree. Well, life is about living and learning from it.
You and I have hopefully done both.

The more I learn about this family the less I like them; and the more embarrassed I am for having supported them. I am so very glad they are gone.Ditto. The Bushes, Romney and McCain are the personification of the Uniparty. I remember thinking how glad I was that Bush was President after 9/11. I was wrong. All Bush did was turn the TSA into a squad of gropers while getting our military into a quagmire with no conditions for victory.

Worst thing to ever happen to Republicans, the Bush family. I think of Reagan and Trump as the two great and wonderful bookends holding four of the worst demoncrap and Republican presidents - Bush, Clinton, Bush and Obama.
If we hadn't had the four bad ones we probably wouldn't appreciate Reagan and Trump as much as we do.
The Bushes only saving grace is that they did rule on the side of life when it came to babies. But that is about it.

She was FOR the Republican Party so long as it was under the dictates of her husband and son. Then she reveals that she was always a “closeted Democrat” at heart. Ditto Laura?
To: carriage_hill
The laws are different in each state, but it is best to be registered Republican to have a voice in the primary. Then if the nominee is persona non grata, leave the contested office blank in the general election.
To: carriage_hill
I’ve lost all respect for the Bush family. All of them.

As far as George I goes, I liked the guy probably because he served his country in combat and he seemed like a descent fellow. He did run the CIA during a bad time under Ford. He went off the rails somewhere by becoming a “centrist”. Probably listened to his wife too much.
