If something breaks out on the world, there are far faster, far, far less expensive ways to project power than carriers.
Nothing projects power like a mushroom cloud followed by a great smoking hole in the ground.
Aircraft can be there in hours, a carrier in days or weeks. Totally obsolete.
Carriers will be obsolete when air superiority over huge swaths of ocean becomes obsolete, so the answer is NEVER.

But perhaps the Truman is obsolete and the newer carriers will have features that can’t be installed on the older carriers. If so then those things are secret as they should be.
