I don't feel sorry for Nike at all. Yes, their slobbering over Kaepernik was disgusting. But someone here at FR who was in marketing and sales said that what Nike was doing with Kaepernik made sense, for them. A massive percentage of their customers are African-Americans. The sneaker market alone would not be alive for Nike if it were not for African-Americans, so the company was slobbering to its customer base.
