The committees are looking into things that have nothing to do with Russian interference — ... handling of classified information,...

Hey, Demwits! I have a suggestion for you to look into a problem with the handling of classified information. Yeah, her.

Crickets, huh?

“We also have a duty to prevent the disclosure of information that would unfairly tarnish people who are not charged with crimes”

But by saying that he tarnishes them anyway by leaving a lingering suspicion.

It is not a dud or a disappointment to clear the president of wrong doing and false charges.

IF true that it is a ‘dud’, then how can the DEMS reject it ?

Mueller is supposedly ‘their guy’ and he hired all ‘their friends’ to do the work.

I can just see the headlines if Mueller release it and it’s a ‘dud’.

“Democrat Party Leaders demand that the President fire Mr. Mueller”

Then Trump will just shred them on the campaign trail for conducting witch hunts and not the nation’s business, even after the lengthy and expensive Mueller investigation found nothing.

Downplaying expectations to maximize the surprise factor when the report comes out. That’s all this is.

If the Mueller report had anything damning Trump, it would have already been leaked to CNN and Democrats with pitchforks and torches would be storming the White House. The orgy of Trump investigations by the House on everything not remotely related to the Russia collusion also indicates that the Mueller investigations are a fizzle.

Has Mueller leaked the contents of his report to Democrats?

If not, then how do they know its a dud, except that they always knew there was nothing there.

They figured, as perhaps did Mueller, that anyone who has been in business at the level Trump has been, must have committed some faux pas along the way, and if you dig deep enough far enough long enough you’ll find it.

But they didn’t find much if anything. If Manafort knew anything, he would not headed off to prison for the rest of his life. If Cohen, Trump’s fixer, had anything to trade he wouldn’t be headed off to prison either. He would gladly sell Trump to get his life back. It didn’t happen, because he had nothing of interest to sell.

Its hard to think of Trump as squeaky clean, but he gets audited by IRS every year, year after year. He learned long ago to color within the lines.

Mueller’s team has been nearly completely silent about what they have been looking at, virtually leak-free. The only outcome has been indictments which speak for themselves, and the one press statement to correct the record about Trump not telling Cohen to lie.

This is how any investigation should be conducted. No one would want to open their local paper to read about how their kid os
being investigated for possible drug use”, only to find that it was a false alarm, yet the allegation was out there to taint the kids life and career.

The right outcome for the SP would be to issue all indictments they have convinced the DOJ to prosecute, and then fold up shop without a further word. We may not get that outcome but it is the right one.

I truly think they have known all along they were never going to find anything. Imo It’s always been about casting a dark cloud over the current Presidential admin. And it’s not gonna stop.... just my 2 cent

I'm confused as to when Rosenstein's letter was sent.

Morrisey, sentence 2:

"Two weeks ago, soon-to-be-departing deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein replied to an inquiry from Senate Judiciary Committee chair Chuck Grassley about the status of Robert Mueller’s special-counsel probe. The 12-page letter . . ."

Karl, sentence 6:

" . . . a little-noticed 12-page letter written by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein last June to Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley."

I remember during the Clinton impeachment hearings the Dems (and their propaganda arm media) were screaming about needing to stop this nonsense and get back to the “people’s” work.

It looks like Mueller has found nothing, but he still might try to score a political hit on Trump by indicting Trump’s son and son-in-law for meeting with the Russian lawyer—an attempted entrapment arranged by Obama’s people which neither of them fell for. Trying to make it into a crime even to attend the meeting would be a real stretch, but this is someone who used massive firepower to arrest Roger Stone, so I wouldn’t put it past Mueller to try it. Get an Obama judge and 12 fanatically-anti-Trump Manhattanites on the jury and they might be found guilty of something...and at least there would be a lot of negative publicity. But even Mueller might be afraid it would backfire.

IF true that it is a ‘dud’, then how can the DEMS reject it ?

All their hopes have switched to the Southern District of New York who are going to investigate Trump and Trump family members' 'crimes'.

Their hope is the SDNY is going to uncover all the crimes Mueller couldn't find.

Democrats won't reject it so much as ignore it.

The report may be a dud, but it will be littered with a lot of, “while we can’t confirm, we highly suspect “blank” wrongdoing.” That will keep the Dems happy and marching toward the path of impeachment.

Rosenstein makes it clear he believes the Department of Justice will not – and cannot without violating long-standing Department of Justice policy – include disparaging or incriminating information about anybody who has not been charged with a crime... “We also have a duty to prevent the disclosure of information that would unfairly tarnish people who are not charged with crimes.” ...A little less than a month ago, Rosenstein publicly remarked that the Department of Justice had no business publishing allegations against American citizens outside of indictments. Given that Rosenstein was at the time the person who was supervising Mueller... And even Democrats are starting to wrap their minds around the fact that the Mueller report is likely to be a “dud,” according to Politico... Many of them expect absolutely nothing. Several top Democratic lawmakers and aides tell us privately that they are certain the report will be a dud... Democratic probes... are going to drag on regardless of the Mueller report. The committees are looking into things that have nothing to do with Russian interference — the president’s company, security clearances, handling of classified information, decision-making in the White House and Cabinet scandals, for example... No one trusts Adam Schiff to do a credible job in investigating Trump, having helped turn the House Intelligence Committee into a joke on this issue. Jerrold Nadler is no less a partisan on Judiciary, even if he’s managed to retain a little more credibility. However, that’s not the the biggest problem for Democrats. Having run in circles screaming that the sky was falling on Robert Mueller and that they had to protect him so he could nail Donald Trump, they now face a world in which Trump never tried to fire Mueller and Mueller never found any actionable evidence for the Russia-collusion theory. Their credibility on Trump will be shot, and they will have left voters exhausted over Trump probes. The only people tuning into Nadler and Schiff will be the ultra-partisans for whom Trump is THE DEBBIL!! regardless of facts and evidence. Good luck winning an election on that basis.
Thanks SeekAndFind.
