What is misleading?
Japan is just holding them to higher standards.
If they want to claim transgender status they need to put their money where their mouth is.
They aren’t forcing sterilization of trannies, as in rounding them up and forcing it on them, but if they want to be recognized as tranny, then live it and the process leaves you sterile.
This business of claiming to be transgender but keeping your old parts is a bunch of crap, and Japan is recognizing it.

The government of Japan doesn’t do the sterilization. It only says that to alter ID from one sex to the other, the person must have already been neutered.
