"if man evolved from non-living, genderless matter or energy and lower life forms, then his rational nature differs not qualitatively but only quantitatively from the beasts. Like beasts, man is not a person but a creature of the earth."

Genesis 2:7: And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Man is a creature of the earth. We share most of our DNA with all other life on it. But unlike the animals, we are given a soul like God's. Does believing in God mean we have to limit him to our own understanding? It does no good for Christians to be enemies of science. It only makes us look silly and stupid.

You: Does believing in God mean we have to limit him to our own understanding?

The answer to your question depends on whether God (the Word of John 1) spoke, and is therefore the Way, Truth, and Life.

If He spoke, then yes, you must limit your understanding to what He revealed to Moses about creation.

Evolutionary Christians do not believe Moses, so how will they believe Jesus' words?
