Yes I agree. Just because the president is very publicly accused of being mentally unfit for office doesn’t mean that President Trump needs to fight back.
Not fighting back worked very well for GW bush it can work very well for President Trump in this situation too.

I agree with your first point. But as for the second, it didn’t work out so well for GWB. He became a punching bag for his critics. He was too passive in my opinion.
