Trump is way smarter and skilled at manipulating people's thoughts than you think he is. Look at what he has done over the years, and the books he has published about his methods.
He has Yoda level trolling skills, and in reality he has many opponents on a string which he pulls whenever it suits him. George Conway is in that category.

Believe it or not, at one time, people thought FDRs fireside chats were “beneath the presidency”.
Our president need not be a sitting duck for attention starved social media yahoos.

One thing is for sure, this President has changed the game (much to the chagrin of the Bushes).
Maybe I am off base on this and it is too a trivial a thing to be concerned with. Lord knows I’ve been wrong before. Unfortunately, it will not be the last.
