She may be Catholic, but she is also a human being. That level of disrespect and public humiliation could be considered abuse. While I believe in marriage for life, I don’t think God intends abuse for life. Were I Catholic and they would not back me in this case, I think I would become Protestant.
Doesn’t seem like the homosexual and pedophile priests give too much of a rip about vows in practice. Given that situation, I doubt if the Catholic church would want the publicity of a high profile divorce denial like this case to hit the news.
