Obama would have given them visas, bj’s and free coke.

So untrue! How dare you! You know Obama never reciprocates oral!

The ICC should have imprisoned Clinton and McCain for what they did in Libya and Syria. It goes without saying Obama should have been impeached.

For folks who think we didn’t sign on to the ICC...

[ no, Congress didn’t ratify anything, but... ]

[ don’t forget folks, the U. N. set it up so legislative bodies did not have to ratify the signatory actions of nation’s leaders (and a majority of nations didn’t have to sign on, less than 50% was needed ]

Now, for your viewing pleasure, (nausea ahead)

Right on ... President Trump is ‘da man’ ... love him (and the people who support him and work for him).

Well, maybe we should just state that we would consider any such arrest of our current or former servicemen to be a hostage taking by a foreign government, and respond appropriately.

“don’t forget folks, the U. N. set it up so legislative bodies did not have to ratify the signatory actions of nation’s leaders”

The UN can do whatever it wants, but it doesn’t make law in the US, and it can’t force us to abide by its decisions, since we can always withdraw from the UN which would instantly make it a meaningless and useless institution.

Hostile act - we start impounding bank accounts, seizing ships, and canceling contracts. Why take half measures?

I agree. The fact is though, at the present time we ARE a signatory to the ICC.

Bill Clinton signed us in, and weeks later after Bush was inaugurated, he took no action whatsoever to counter that.

Look, we both agree that Congress did not ratify our participation. Still, even they didn’t pass a resolution or a bill against our joining. (not that that means much other than that they didn’t agree with it)

The Senate must ratify. If it doesn’t, we are not bound.

We have been playing along though. Until it doesn’t suit us, we’ve been just fine with it.

Massive mistake on our part, but my opinion doesn’t count for much.

Had a co-worker who opined that after Trump won, how happy he was that Obama had served out his second term. When I inquired further as to the lunacy of that statement, he further explained to; “Just think if you had to live out your days in fear of that man ever running and winning again.”

Dude had a point!

Doesn’t make a hoot or holler what the U.N. set up. THE LAW OF THIS LAND IS THE US CONSTITUTION! PERIOD!

Well Molly, the sad truth is, if our troops were to travel to Europe, an agent of the ICC be it the local police or someone else, could arrest them if they had been convicted by the ICC.

Bill Clinton did sign on for our nation. It would make it difficult for those arrested to claim they didn’t come under the laws of the ICC.

We both agree it’s not Constitutionally appropriate. It angered me when Bill Clinton signed, and it really angered me when George Bush took a pass on nullifying Clinton’s clearly unConstitutional actions.
