The telecommunications industry is working together in an attempt to ensure any website housing footage of the Christchurch terrorist attack is inaccessible to New Zealanders.
Spark, Vodafone, Vocus and 2degrees - the country’s largest internet service providers (ISP) - are blocking any website which has footage of the shootings.
According to Geoff Thorn - CEO of New Zealand Telecommunications Forum (TCF) - this is an “unprecedented move” by the telecommunications industry, but one that they all agree is necessary.
“The industry is working together to ensure this harmful content can’t be viewed by New Zealanders,” said Thorn.

Thank God for the Bill of Rights in the USA ... although New Zealand has been attempting to enforce their laws over here in the USA, regarding this video.
It will be harder in the USA though.
Any New Zealander can get it, no matter if the ISPs try to block it, by using a bitTorrent program and a VPN. They can get around it. But, that takes some practice and working it through, if someone hasn’t done it before. So, people need to start practicing now how to get around a repressive government like this, that tries to dictate what you can see and/or say.
It probably means that if the ISPs see that Free Republic references links to the video, then they will block Free Republic over there. They might not notice it, right now, however.
You would think, if this was deemed ‘inappropriate’ and ‘harmful’, then all porn sites would also be banned/blocked as well. Then you’d also have to ban/block all video-gaming sites where violence of any type would be blocked.
Why not just take down all social media, internet, and force people back to newspapers and 1970s-style television?
My friends in Canada had access to lots of visual media and they don’t believe it really happened.
I have not seen anything.

One question I haven’t seen answered, yet, despite all this talk about freedom of speech and government control -
Why does the NZ government want this video suppressed? If they are as pro-islum as everyone claims, wouldn’t this video generate sympathy for their cause?

There is something in that video that the powers that be really really really don’t want people to see, and it isn’t carnage.
The powers that be are fine with carnage. Especially carnage that promotes their agenda and narrative.
But, something went wrong with this video and they really really really don’t want people to notice it.
Information is suppressed for one reason and one reason only.
Videos are taken down fast so as not to give time for independent analysis.
That way the official narrative will prevail.

Well, I’ve got it, and have looked it over a few times. It’s carnage, all right, but I didn’t see anything that would discredit it “as happening”.
I had someone on Free Republic tell me there was no blood in it, however I pointed him back to a spot where it was there, clearly. At first he said he believe his own eyes, that there was no blood. But, when he looked where I told him, he found it.
You get people saying that sort of stuff all over the Internet ... but there’s nothing ‘discrediting’ about the video.
