I hope he had the opportunity to tell his tales before he died because I'm willing to bet he had some very interesting tales to tell.

It would be a shame if they all went to the grave with him.

I would bet that he was the kind of guy who kept lots of notes and records etc. Hopefully they were passed on to someone with interest and courage.
