The Irish prime minister, Leo Varadkar, who is gay, brought his partner to a meeting on Thursday with the US vice-president, Mike Pence, a conservative Christian once dubbed “the face of anti-LGBTQ hate in America”.
Varadkar, who is in Washington this week to reaffirm the longstanding shared history between the two countries, brought his partner, Matt Barrett, to a St Patrick’s Day breakfast at the vice-presidential residence at the Naval Observatory.
Varadkar tweeted that he and Barrett had received a “warm reception” at Pence’s home, but in pointed remarks to Pence and gathered media, he also called out various forms of discrimination.
“I lived in a country where if I’d tried to be myself at the time, it would have ended up breaking laws,” he said. “But today, that is all changed. I stand here, leader of my country, flawed and human, but judged by my political actions, and not by my sexual orientation, my skin tone, gender or religious beliefs.”

Believe me, no one cares who anyone is banging as long as it is consenting adults.
That’s why its weird today; more than half a century ago the government asked the US to limit the number of Irish allowed to stem the brain drain.
Ireland only allowed divorce in the 1990s; now they have abortion and “gay marriage” (though Northern Ireland allows neither of those - both the Protestants and Catholics there still have some Christianity). They are low-rent imitations of Americans - and I say that as an Irishman.
Amen to that. He’s a sodomite, which God calls an abomination, therefore using Biblical standards (and as a Christian, that’s what I use regarding matters of morality), he’s an abomination. Of course I’m supposed to reach out to the lost and tell them of the repentance and salvation which can be theirs under God, assuming their hearts aren’t already hardened and their consciences seared, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t use Biblical discernment to judge their immorality as an abomination. If God calls it that, who am I to know better than my Creator?
In light of “MeToo” and various witch hunts against conservatives, I’d say that he had been quite prescient to abide by that rule. The left mocks him for it because they know that he left them no opening to throw a ton of mud at him just in case they could make some stick. All men should adopt his rule to the best of their ability-if the women don’t like it, just tell them that as they have decreed all men to be potential rapists, men are doing what they can to protect their potential victims.

And when the left starts with their inevitable false equivalency of Bible-believing Christians to muzzies, just remind them that we’re not the ones throwing sodomites off tall buildings, neither do we want to-Christians believe that a forced conversion is no conversion at all.
And remind them that it’s not Christians trying to force others to uphold the left’s beliefs, in suing Christian business owners who won’t disseminate the sodomite propaganda for them. It’s not good enough for them that we don’t publicly bring up the issue, they demand that we also help to spread their propaganda!
And, they only do this to Christians.
Just as conservatives are forced to support the left’s propaganda with our tax money going to NPR and such. Or to public schools touting the sodomite life and practices, often with admonitions to the children to not tell their parents.
This enforcement of leftist conformity-not just negatively, by not speaking against it, but positively, by being forced to publicly support it, is designed to break the spirits of Christians.
Or to abortion, even giving teens the “right” to not inform their parents, in some places, that they’re going to have an abortion.
But they’ll expel a kid for giving a classmate an aspirin.
Ireland is now in bed with Iran.

These people are tiresome. There is no religious litmus test to hold any public office in the US. If you don’t like him, vote for someone else.

And note that Pence treated them like he treats EVERY human being, with warmth and respect; unlike this guy who used the opportunity to attack Pence for having beliefs.
