That’s awesome! Truly inspirational!

What I am getting at is let’s say these spoiled rich kids transcripts are full of d and f grades. In my day, that was failing all over the place. These failed students, even though they’ve got their diploma in hand, are going to eventually apply for a job where their transcripts will be reviewed. What employer would want to hire that kind of student? Or is bought college and/or grades another pipeline that needs to be looked at?

You can buy your stupid kid a spot in a top-notch college, but when the grades don’t match up? What happens then?

1st I have never had an employer look at my college transcripts. 2nd college isn’t what it use to be.
Many classes are pass fail, B’s are the knew D’s. The biggest hurdle is getting into college. Ben Shapiro said this was his experience at Harvard Law School.

Thanks. It sure inspired me. I truly hated high school. I hated the environment, the structure, the prison-like conditions (they even locked the doors with a chain to prevent skipping, to which I called the fire department... I was a troublemaker (hence my screen name)). At university I ‘adulted’ as they say these days. It was up to me, which is what I always wanted from HS.

My point was about grades is, you have to really work at failing out of university. If I recall you can’t even get by with Ds, and Fs will get you kicked out. If you just show up and do the modicum of work you will get a passing grade. But that’s as you said a marker of what kind of person you are and if transcripts are ever reviewed, Cs won’t cut it any more than Ds and Fs.

I’ve got a suspicion that some of these people’s parents wanted their kids to go to University to get their MRS. Degree as they say. Dumb as rocks kids due to overindulgent and inattentive parenting, knowing that a University is a good place for them to marry up intelligence wise or marry up in wealth and connections (and this is for guys too, not just women). Like back in the previous centuries, the elites almost always had arranged marriages for the purposes of wealth and power, not so much for love. Not to say these are bad people, just not necessarily high on the IQ scale or never learned to apply themselves. They use their money and connections to get into school and it didn’t start there and doesn’t stop there. They use their connections to get into the right cliques, social clubs, fraternities and sororities etc to make more connections for later in life. The university scam is just one in a life of sordid machinations.
