President Donald Trump declared his intention to veto a Congressional resolution set to pass the U.S. senate that disapproves of his declaration of a national emergency at the southern border, in a Thursday morning tweet.

"A big National Emergency vote today by The United States Senate on Border Security & the Wall (which is already under major construction). I am prepared to veto, if necessary. The Southern Border is a National Security and Humanitarian Nightmare, but it can be easily fixed!"
The Republicans who have publicly said they will vote for the resolution include Sens. Rand Paul, Susan Collins, Thom Thillis, Lisa Murkowski, and Mike Lee. White House officials say that the number of Republicans who ultimately end up voting for the resolution could reach 10.
Their concerns center on the idea that Trump is circumventing Congress’s enumerated power of the purse to appropriate funds and use them as he pleases. Nearly all have noted that future Democratic presidents would exploit Trump’s action and declare their own national emergencies to fulfill campaign promises.

They often hold out gun confiscation as a step that a Dim POTUS would take, and this is why they MUST stop Trump.
But the liars do not see the flaw in their own reasoning. Guns are protected by the second Amendment and if they could do so, they already would have.
Additionally, they find themselves taking the position that there is no National Security or Humanitarian Emergency at the border.

What you find is politicians, including Repubs, who will tell you all day long that they favor “enhanced border security”... but they are not willing to do anything to actually “enhance” border security.
The key thing that must change, is the way we define “asylum”. That will take some congressional spine, and a couple of trips to the Supreme Court. But as long as they hand out “asylum” like gumballs no amount of wall building will help. As they currently define asylum, there effectively is no border. And Trump stands alone, with the enemy inside his camp.
800 illegals were picked up last Saturday night in El Paso, TX. That’s 800 in just a few hours on one night at one border point. If that’s not an emergency, I don’t know what is.
Yesterday, ICE took 40+ illegals out of our little nothing podunk county jail. This is a regular bus haul every few days. Yes, demonrats and RINOs, 40-50 illegals from one podunk jail is an emergency.

A wall keeps the wetbacks off US soil and the asylum laws are different in that case. Of course some judge will allow the wetbacks to apply at a POE but hopefully SCOTUS will shoot that loop hole down.

The local farmers and businessmen were discussing this at breakfast this morning. They didn’t understand why the Repubic-hair RINOs hadn’t fixed this when they had power. I can’t believe these guys couldn’t see the RINO’s don’t want it fixed, the rich get their cheap labor. Pay the gardener cash, below minimum wage, no FICA to the gubmint. Ryan says he’s for fixing the problem, but doesn’t do anything because he represents his rich friends. When it started getting hot, he leaves his speakership. Pelosi’s family fish business hires illegals I”m sure.
My friends and I don’t have cash businesses, agriculture in our area doesn’t hire field labor, all operations use big equipment. I get paid by credit card or check, no cash.
Trump should put them all on notice that he will be looking to primary anyone that votes for open borders.

The GOP hates its base. They want to replace it with something more vibrant. Pure contempt. Immigration is the perfect storm of “diversity is our strength” leftism and the cheap labor express on the “right”. Interesting how that lined up.
