Doggone, I only found four schools in South Carolina listed and Clemson is nowhere on that list. Apparently Clemson has gone to the left and only cares about athletics now. Very disheartening that I have a step grandson going there.

Clemson is probably still way better than the average bear. My brother got his PhD from Clemson and is now teaching economics to an elite women's college in Virginia (the one Jacqueline Kennedy attended, but I don't recall the name).

My Dad's Alma Mater South Dakota State University is on the list mainly, I think, as a reflection of the values of a very agricultural college in a very agricultural state whose coursework is dominated by the hard sciences.

Bottom line is that there are probably well more than 70 decent colleges out there, but this list is a good place to start.
