Media outraged that President Trump would interfere in a private business’s dealings. News on CNN at 5:00 pm.
Good move. I think I read yesterday that Boeing said it would be a month or more until they distribute software update.
That’s the model that becomes a ‘convertible,’ whether you want it to or not! ;)
“Aloha Airlines Flight 243 was a scheduled Aloha Airlines flight between Hilo and Honolulu in Hawaii. On April 28, 1988, a Boeing 737-297 serving the flight suffered extensive damage after an explosive decompression in flight, but was able to land safely at Kahului Airport on Maui. There was one fatality, flight attendant Clarabelle Lansing, who was ejected from the airplane. Another 65 passengers and crew were injured.”

The FAA grounded the 737;
The FAA is ordering the temporary grounding of Boeing 737 MAX aircraft (PDF) operated by U.S. airlines or in U.S. territory. The agency made this decision as a result of the data gathering process and new evidence collected at the site and analyzed today. This evidence, together with newly refined satellite data available to FAA this morning, led to this decision.
The grounding will remain in effect pending further investigation, including examination of information from the aircrafts flight data recorders and cockpit voice recorders. An FAA team is in Ethiopia assisting the NTSB as parties to the investigation of the Flight 302 accident. The agency will continue to investigate.

Shouldn’t the FAA announce this, and ground them IAW FAA protocols?
Weird.
I think these accidents were caused by the center fuel tank.
Software in control of a big jet can be deadly.
They better go quick and find a group of OCD coders to fix the mess.
