Like Liberals here in the US, the socialists in Venezuela simply can’t just admit they’re wrong, that they’ve failed. About anything. Ever.

Bingo, you nailed it. They won't admit that their system has failed. Maduro will likely be thrown under the bus, giving them the "wrong man was running it" excuse. His successor will probably enact a few market reforms, not unlike Lenin's New Economic Plan in 1921. But once the situation stabilizes it will be back to full-on socialism as usual.
