“diplomatic staff at the embassy has become a constraint on U.S. policy.”
That seems to strongly imply military action.
The recognized President, Juan Guido, is now asking the US, France, Colombia and Brazil, who operate Naval Forces off the Venezuelan coast, to blockade Cuban support to Maduro.
The new anti-communist President of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, is scheduled to meet with President Trump on 19 March, and a series of pretty big deals are being worked right now - big changes to Brazil’s trade relationships away from China and toward the USA, Defense and Space Program cooperation - and no doubt, coordination on Venezuela.
Very interesting...
....Oil industry sources said that exports from the primary port of Jose had been halted for lack of power, cutting off Venezuelas primary source of revenue.
....Venezuela suspends school and business activities on Tuesday amid blackout.
...Guaido called for a halt in shipments of oil to Maduros political ally Cuba, which has received discounted crude from Venezuela for nearly two decades.
...Venezuelas electrical grid has suffered from years of underinvestment. Restrictions on imports have affected the provision of spare parts, while ‘many skilled technical personnel have fled the country’.
My, my. That might include financial resources as well. And we could lock that section of water up so tight the cartels would start squealing. And it isn’t an invasion, and it’s high time the Cubans got shut down anyway. Very, very interesting.
