I immigrated to Canada to run a subsidiary of an American company. The company had to prove they had looked in Canada for someone to do the job I was sent to do.

My family and I went to the Niagara customs station and were turned down by a snarky immigration officer. So I drove to Fort Erie, IIRC, and went through without a hitch. Sheesh.
