Only legal in those counties with population under 700k and if voters want it. I think there are only 21 legal brothels. When the housing crisis hit Nevada the number went down considerably. Much more illegal in Reno and Vegas.

Prostitution in Nevada is permitted in licensed brothels in just eight counties in that state.
Prostitution is a misdemeanor everywhere else in Nevada, even in those eight counties if the prostitution takes place outside of the licensed brothels.

I remember seeing an episode of “Cops” a number of years ago. The camera crew was with Las Vegas Metro. A prostitute was arrested, and the police had her tested for the HIV virus. The woman tested positive, and the police told her if she is arrested again, she would be charged with a felony, instead of a misdemeanor.
