I was also about 13 when I got a 22 cal single shot rifle. I don’t think in the 50s, anyone was concerned about mass shootings and there wasn’t much gun crime. That I believe was because the death penalty was standard for first degree murder and prison and hard labor for other crimes.

Times have changed a great deal!

The “social contract” was reinforced at home, at school, at church, in the work place, in the sports arenas, in public, etc., etc.

Then SCOTUS, Ted Kennedy, Jesse Jackson, NAACP, LBJ, ACLU, et al got busy and screwed America up!

Shame on us, we let them!

Hopefully, it is not too late
