(Excerpt) Read more at socialjusticebooks.org ...

TOPICS: Culture/Society
KEYWORDS:
At the end of the book, Alva and Mills provide a brief history of the Mexican-American War

Saw this book while browsing through the children's section at the book store. The end sums up with that the United States stole the southwestern states from Mexico and Mexicans are only reclaiming what is rightfully theirs.

Nice to hear them acknowledge it is an invasion, and not poor people being driven from their land by statist corruption and gang warfare.

They just want to take what is rightfully ours by the Treaty of Guadalupe Hildalgo.

We should then treat them as invaders.

IOW, he’s making money off his crime. Deport him and his whole family and make him pay back every dime from the book sales.

Wife and visited Oaxaca some years back. The local hotel, named the “El Presidente,” featured a large map at check-in.
The map showed a Mexico that included Texas, New Mexico, Arizona as part of Mexico.

Great-great grandpa and a couple other cousins helped capture Santa Anna. We can do a Battle of San Jacinto over again if Mexico wants.

Wonder if they also teach the kids that the reason their schools suck is due to the influx of non English speaking students whose parents pay no taxes.

Of course they forget that Mexico took it from the Spanish, who conquered the Aztecs

I would say to them “Just be honest about what you are doing, and we will fashion our response to you so that we don’t react inappropriately.”

Heck we know they would still lie, because reacting appropriately to invaders means calling in air strikes and troops on the ground, but...at least we could ask them to be honest!
