So where did 19 months come from? It was from sentencing guidelines.

Years? Tax evasion sentences are below guidelines by an average of 50%. So with the guidelines and common practice he should have had a 10 year sentence at most. But more like there would not be consecutive sentences for the other crimes.

You can look all this stuff up.

So half, as you pointed out, would be between 10 and 12. (19 and 24). I have no problem with judges having discretion. Manafort needs to thank his lucky stars he got more than the benefit of the doubt from the judge.

I wonder what kind words the judge would have had for Whitey Bulger had he been assigned that case. :)
