In the west its probably close to 50/50 but in China and India count on it being skewed against females.
Since each of those countries has over a billion people, I assume there are global implications of their killing of females. India tried to outlaw gender-based abortions, but wealthier people would pay doctors for a heas-up (and kill the girls in the womb) while poorer people would simply leave the females in a roadside ditch.
Red China’s response was to ease up on the one-child policy; if the first one was broken (female - just kidding!) you could have another.
