Jewish Obstinacy in the Age of Omar
American Thinker ^ | Steve Feinstein

Posted on 03/08/2019 3:00:31 AM PST by RoosterRedux

[T]here is an undeniable anti-Semitic aspect in current-day Democratic politics, as optimized by the many offensive statements issued by freshman Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. Democratic House leader Nancy Pelosi, faced on one hand with growing public pressure to condemn what is seen as blatant anti-Semitism and trying to balance the need not to cause a fracture within the Democratic Party on the other hand, is trying to walk a fine line. The liberal Washington Post is even trying to give Pelosi an escape route by saying that Omar’s criticism of Israeli policies or American politicians’ actions should not be conflated with blanket criticism of Jewish people. That’s a microscopic needle for Pelosi to attempt to thread.

All of which brings us to where we are – undeniably -- today: unequivocal support for Israel is seen as a Republican platform plank, not a Democratic one. Instead, Democrats now take a more “enlightened,” nuanced view, criticizing Israel’s treatment of Palestinians, their supposed asymmetrical, disproportionate military response to terror attacks, their continued building of settlements in “disputed” territory and their use of a wall to prevent border intrusions.

...

In political terms, the bottom-line question is this: Will any perceived anti-Israel bias or anti-Semitism on the part of the Democratic Party significantly affect the historically-reliable Democratic loyalty of the American Jewish voting bloc?

If the reaction I’ve witnessed among my Jewish friends and family is any indication, the answer is a resounding no. To whatever talents and abilities were previously ascribed by American society to the Jewish community, another can now be added: an almost unfathomably limitless capacity for self-deception.

The entire tussle on the Left is the natural conclusion of their coalition of victimized minorities. Intersectionality naturally gives rise to “WHose grievance is “best”? Who wins the hand? FOr decades Jews have had the highest trump. Over blacks, over homos, even over Lesbians and trannies. Suddenly some people aren’t happy with that. Especially as JEws deon’t Suffer discrimination at MEd School or Law School. Quite the opposite. Economically they don’t seem to suffer. Almost half of “the 1%” is Jewish. They certainly have plenty of Representatives and are not suffering for want of Senators. So people on the left are starting to ask just why is it that Jews get the top slot?

It’s funny because if I remember in the Rat experiments when they tried seeing what happens when rats live together in various densities IIRC it is just as the resources start to get scarce the Rats get really vicious and turn on each other.

Observe the chaos and evil emanating from FedGov now with just a couple Islamists occupying seats. Project what things will look like when there are a hundred. Better get woke America.

I don’t think Jewish Democrats who have been promoting multiculturalism and immigration for a long, long time ever envisioned giving up their “first among equals” minority status.

However, it would appear that the moment has arrived.

I am not familiar with the rats that you reference, but I do know of interesting studies that were carried out with rats and mice. Look up the “mouse utopia experiment.” In these experiments, the mice were never deprived. But when their population reached a certain density, social pathologies set in and eventually induced behaviors that were so aberrant that the colony died off. Much like the conditions in the mouse experiments, in modern cities, the population density is highest and aberrant behavior is the norm—it is no surprise that the violent, power-hungry, weirdo left does so well in cities.

I suspect that the equivalent of what’s going on is that many people in the American Jewish community and supporters of Israel don’t realize that they are like the proverbial frogs placed in a pot of water, only the water pot is the Democratic Party; their enemies put a small flame under it and slowly turn up the heat. As it gets warmer, the frogs think that this too shall pass and while uncomfortable it is only incrementally hotter so they don’t try to jump out; but it doesn’t, until they realize that the water is boiling.

For most Jews to turn against the Democratic party would be to turn against the beliefs they have held and championed their entire life.

They would rather die than admit their cherished assumptions about the nature of reality were wrong.

It is a common human trait.

And they literally will die. The muzzles and antifa will kill them with impunity. You can't save people who have a death wish.

I was about to respond to the article with the recognition of a similar problem with Catholics.

In both groups, the old guard are so wedded to the political voting patterns of their ancestors that they refuse to even consider that their old party has become evil incarnate.

I could write that serious, practicing Catholics are no longer pawns of the Democrats, and that is somewhat true. However, I see some Catholics who are daily Mass goers, yet cling to their old biases in voting. It is totally incomprehensible to me.
