Full headline: DHS chief Nielsen: Central American countries want their children back but U.S. cant send them because the law doesnt allow it
Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen told a House committee on Thursday that Central American governments in Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador have said they want the U.S. to return their children, but that cant happen under current law.
What we hear from the Northern Triangle governments they have said this publicly. I am sure that they will tell you when you visit them is they want their children back, she told the House Homeland Security Committee.
Our laws uniquely allow us to send Mexican children back home after they have gone through a process, do not have a legal right to stay, but under the law, we cannot send children from other countries back, except for Mexico and Canada, she added.
So the Northern Triangle governments have said to us they will say to you please send us our children back. We want them reunited with our families and communities here, the DHS chief continued.

BOTH parties created this immigration mess.
When laws aren’t enforced for decades then chaos exists. Pretty much what has happened beginning with GWH Bush. These people may have improved their own countries by now had they known that America had a tight border and you couldn’t just walk in.
Were being friggin invaded. I suggest flame thrower tanks and armed reaper drones. And USE THEM.
And neither party will voluntarily get us out of our immigration mess.
How are we supposed to really know where these people came from ... plus why should we pay to send them to honduras?
We need to get in the business of just enforcing the border and not allowing them in. Unfortunately this requires militarization of the entire border.
Nielsen should have been fired when Kelly was sacked. She’s useless and disloyal.
Sidney Powell, former long-term DoJ attorney, published this article back in October, explaining how Trump could legally stop all this instantly, with a law that was recently upheld as legitimate for him to use:

I just heard on the news, ambassador Abrams / Venezuela considering bringing 73,000 Venezuelans here permanently .
Put them on planes...land at any Central American airport...unload them...take off. Repeat as necessary. Current law is child abuse.
Having Elliot Abrams involved, aling with Bolton, is a sure sign this is a misguided Deep State regime change for the country’s oil. And such people would be those who are corrupt in the current narco-state, only willing to turn on Maduro if they belief they will get a safe and protected landing, with effective int’l amnesty for their crimes, in a cushy country like the US.
BOTH parties have given aid and comfort to the enemy!
The bombshell is that she is stupid enough not to work around that law.
Everybody in the world is free to violate American law. Why can’t she.
If the moral code is not binding on the people stealing into our country, then it is not binding on Americans.
At times, I have no understanding of this administration. With Obama, we knew what we were getting and that is screwed. With Trump, our motivation get high with tough talk but we seem to be let down with fecklessness, incompetence and idiocy especially with this immigration crisis.
There’s an old saying that the Constitution is not a suicide pact. We’ve turned it into one.
Kinda agree...
What!?
As someone from the inside, Secretary Nielsen, along with the Commissioner of CBP, are stalwarts in their support of the President and his views. How anyone can doubt her after she has vigorously pushed back against the Dems when she appears before Congress, I just don’t get.
Really? How about Elian Gonzales?
