Former Rep. Ralph Hall, a political survivor whose career mirrored the massive partisan shift that marked the last 50 years of Texas politics and made him the oldest person to ever serve in the U.S. House, died Thursday. He was 95.

“All for Hall from Rockwall”
RIP, Mr. Hall.
Sad news. He was a great Democrat, back when there was such a thing. One of my first Freeper activities was to participate in a rally at his Rockwall office to support him during the election recount of 2000. He came out, spoke to the crowd and shook hands with many of us, knowing we were Republicans. A fine gentleman.
What a great article.
This guy concentrated on two things - what was good for his district and what was good for America. He practiced constituent service the way it should be. Served his country loyally in the military and in Congress.
RIP, (former) Congressman Hall.

I still have some of those aluminum slugs with a penny in the middle that said that.
“Pay to read a Dallas Snoring News article? FO”
I read the article. It was free.
RIP.
A quick remembrance - in 2001 I went to the White House with my Mom and Dad on a tour arranged by their Congressperson (Virginia Fox - NC). Mom had brought a large purse with her, and security would not let it through. Rep. Fox was there, and asked Ralph (Rep. Hall) if he could take it back to her office (she had a meeting to go to directly from the White House) where we could pick it up later. He gladly volunteered, took Mom’s purse as discussed, made some small talk with us, then went to talk to some of his constituents who were there while we headed into the White House. Several hours later we retrieved the purse from Rep. Fox’s office. He was a great Representative and a real Texas gentleman. RIP.
We need more Ralph Halls now. Gone, but not forgotten.
When I pinged the site of the post the Dallas News article popped up and then a second window opened up over that one and gave me the choice of dropping ad blocker or 3 choices to pay to read the article. I get the same thing from the Washington Post. Pay 1$ (to Bezos) to read article. I guess it comes from me using an ad blocker.
Mr. Hall was a very good congressman.
I tip my hat, well done Mr. Hall.
RIP, Mr. Hall. A true man of the people.
