I clicked on it. The author says he is/was a Navy pilot and ring-knocker. He is a Song Bird supporter and Trump’s defecation on McCain’s war record during the 2016 primaries likely sent the writer over the edge. And the paper is from North Jersey (99% “Bergen” means northeastern lib shithole country) so that explains it.
McCain and supporters kind of brought that on himself. It’s certainly OK to cite military service as part of one’s resume, but it’s not OK to declare any outside criticism off limits just because one is a veteran. I didn’t follow the particulars at the granular level but I got the impression they decided any criticism is off limits, so Donny Two Scoops let ‘em have it. F ‘em.
I’ll never forgive the SOB for claiming “there’s nothing to fear” about an Obie presidency. That he would say that was ridiculous on its face, but he said it during the campaign. He wanted to lose. What an asshole.
