First sentence: "live-in boyfriend"

Five sentences later: "Mr. Roberts is not a staff member and only receives the same benefits as other spouses"

This article doesn't have three or four authors like so many others these days. How can one authoress not keep her facts straight? How can an author write such contradictions within sentences of each other?

In fairness the author said it’s her boyfriend and the latter was said by the congresswoman’s office. It seems her office thinks a live-in boyfriend is the same as a spouse...Typical of socialists, I guess.

These days, some jobs let you extend spousal benefits to another human being that you designate.
