This is the real emergency in Congress that is threatening our democracy. It is not Trump's emergency declaration, anything involving the Russians, or whatever is the left's latest concocted outrage of the moment. The most pressing emergency is corporate special interests controlling both political parties to enrich their coffers. Paul, in making his supposedly principled stand, enables the swamp unwittingly by blocking Trump from securing the border. It is no coincidence that moderate GOP Sens. Susan Collins (Maine), Thom Tillis (N.C.), and Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) are standing with Rand to stop Trump's emergency measures.

Unfortunately, Rand Paul is so concerned with "proper procedure" that he fails to see the more overriding concern --- the ideological war.

His never ending quest to come across as the “reasonable adult” has fallen flat as he ignores the indisputable facts of what’s going on at our border and the danger it presents to our nation.

Rand Paul needs to figure out that power precedes constitutions, and if he wants people to abide by the Constitution, then he needs to help recreate the conditions where those who actually care about that document have the power to force those who don’t to abide by it anywise.

Yammering about proper procedure while you’re being flooded with millions of foreigners who don’t give a flip about your Constitution or your procedures or your rule of law or whatever else, is NOT the way to do it.

Yes, and I am one of the most ideology driven conservatives out there, but because of the pure ideology stance of libertarians, abandoned my commitment to libertarianism. Yes, you are right. He is missing that we are at war here.
