FDR appointed William O Douglas to the Supreme Court when he (Douglas) was but 40. He went on to serve for 36 years, the longest tenure on the Court, and one of the most damaging.

And William O. Douglas was so senile by the time he quit, he forgot he quit and would show up in the building thinking he was still on the Court.

RBG could be following suit.

One of the worst justices ever. Anything Big Government wanted to do to the people, Douglas was on board. His voting record was horrible. He enabled every bit of tyranny in America.
