Record low temps in late January caused the Gov to encourage people to set thermostats to 60, and refrain from using hot water because of a brown out. As it happens, snow covered solar panels rendering them useless, requiring the dire and no doubt very inconvenient accommodations. It seems the solar power company could not see fit to remove the snow, not that it would have helped in the dark of night. h/t John Hinderaker/Powerline.

We’ve seen this kind of group think momentum pushing government to do something really stupid in the past and it was called Prohibition. Instead of “demon rum” we have “demon carbon”. I can see the day when bootleggers will be carrying jugs of gasoline and people will have to sneak into unmarked gas stations made to look like a speakeasy to fill up their illegal car. How many apocalyptic prophets have predicted that we would all be extinct by now due to the effects of warming that never happened? You’d think people would catch on to the game by now but just like Jehovah Witnesses they keep pursuing their mission from God.
