A smart guy and a pragmatist more than a conservative or liberal. He would be preferable to any of the currently announced candidates in the Democrat Party field, BUT ...

The way the electoral college works, he would be 2020’s Ross Perot. A well-financed third party candidate that draws more than a few percent of the popular vote practically assures the victory of the major party candidate who is less alike to the other two.

In Ross Perot’s case, the entry of another Texan with an oil industry background who sounded conservative and populist on a lot of issues assured Bill Clinton’s victory in 1992.

The entry of Cuban, a self-made billionaire and Washington outsider, would practically assure the election of whatever left wing democrat was nominated in 2020.

Interesting take. Plus, in each case, it made the incumbent a one term President. I think a lot of people like Cuban. I think he’s liked in general by business people that may get behind him and I think the “populace” likes him because of Shark Tank.

Sad to say, but that’s how people vote. I can’t count the people who voted for Obama because he had an iPhone. I’m not kidding.
