They are robbing us, not only about power, they do not want their fleecing of the people to be exposed
EXCERPT--Peter Schweizer in his new book, Secret Empires: How the American Political Class Hides Corruption and Enriches Family and Friends, details a number of ethical violations on both sides of the political aisle. One example: the little-noticed private equity firm run by the sons of Democrats Joe Biden and John Kerry, as detailed in this exclusive first excerpt.
The two men became close while serving for several decades together in the US Senate. The two often talked on matters of foreign policy, says Jules Witcover in his Biden biography. So their sons going into business together in June 2009 was not exactly a bolt out of the blue. But with whom their sons cut lucrative deals while the elder two were steering the ship of state is more of a surprise.
What Hunter Biden, the son of Americas vice president, and Christopher Heinz, the stepson of the chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations (later to be secretary of state), were creating was an international private equity firm. It was anchored by the multi-million Heinz family alternative investment fund, Rosemont Capital. The new firm would be populated by political loyalists and positioned to strike profitable deals overseas with foreign governments and officials with whom the US government was negotiating.
Hunter Biden, Vice President Joe Bidens youngest son, had gone through a series of jobs since graduating from Yale Law School in 1996, including the hedge-fund business. By the summer of 2009, the 39-year-old Hunter joined forces with the son of another powerful figure in American politics, Chris Heinz. Senator John Heinz of Pennsylvania had tragically died in a 1991 airplane crash when Chris was 18. Chris, his brothers, and his mother inherited a large chunk of the familys vast ketchup fortune, including a network of investment funds and a Pennsylvania estate, among other properties. In May 1995, his mother, Teresa, married Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts. That same year, Chris graduated from Yale, and then went on to get his MBA from Harvard Business School.
Joining them in the Rosemont venture was Devon Archer, a longtime Heinz and Kerry friend. The three friends established a series of related LLCs. The trunk of the tree was Rosemont Capital, the alternative investment fund of the Heinz Family Office. Rosemont Farm is the name of the Heinz familys 90-acre estate outside Fox Chapel, Pennsylvania. The small fund grew quickly. According to an email revealed as part of a Securities and Exchange Commission investigation, Rosemont described themselves as a $2.4 billion private equity firm co-owned by Hunter Biden and Chris Heinz, with Devon Archer as Managing Partner. The partners attached several branches to the Rosemont Capital trunk, including Rosemont Seneca Partners, LLC, Rosemont Seneca Technology Partners, and Rosemont Realty. Of the various deals in which these Rosemont entities were involved, one of the largest and most troubling concerns was Rosemont Seneca Partners.
Rather than set up shop in New York City, the financial capital of the world, Rosemont Seneca leased space in Washington, DC. They occupied an all-brick building on Wisconsin Avenue, the main thoroughfare of exclusive Georgetown. Their offices would be less than a mile from John and Teresa Kerrys 23-room Georgetown mansion, and just two miles from both Joe Bidens office in the White House and his residence at the Naval Observatory. In short, the Chinese government was literally funding a business that it co-owned along with the sons of two of Americas most powerful decision makers.

How Clinton operatives pushed now-debunked Trump-Russia server conspiracy
The Washington Times ^ | January 23, 2019 | Rowan Scarborough / FR Posted by detective
The Clinton campaigns operation to spread a now-debunked story on a Russian bank-Donald Trump computer linkage went further than previously known, according to new congressional testimony. It turns out that at least two Clinton operatives went inside the Justice Department to sell the allegation.
The phony Democrat-pitched narrative went like this: The Trump Organization maintained a secret computer server at Trump Tower directly tied to Moscows Alfa Bank, whose partners are linked to Russian President Vladimir Putin. But cybersleuths traced the servers IP address not to Moscow, but to a spam operation outside Philadelphia that spit out hotel marketing pitches, including the Trump Organizations. We, the people, know "so little," (smirk) for example:
<><> the dossier was handed off by Fusion GPS employee, Nellie Ohr, to her husband, DOJ official Bruce Ohr,
<><> with a sprinkle of DNC fairy dust, the dossier became the "real thing"....
<><> the basis of Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrants,
<><> specifically targeting Trump campaign adviser, Carter Page,
<><> signed off by the Obama administration,
<><> high mucky-muck FBI director James Comey and deputy, Andrew McCabe jumped in feet-first,
Wow. Aint this a shocker? Ohr was later (cough) "demoted" over his involvement.

The Clinton campaigns operation to spread a now-debunked story on a Russian bank-Donald Trump computer linkage went further than previously known, according to new congressional testimony. It turns out that at least two Clinton operatives went inside the Justice Department to sell the allegation. The Democrat-pitched narrative went like this: The Trump Organization maintained a secret computer server at Trump Tower directly tied to Moscows Alfa Bank, whose partners are linked to Russian President Vladimir Putin. But cybersleuths traced the servers IP address not to Moscow, but to a spam operation outside Philadelphia that spit out hotel marketing pitches, including the Trump Organizations.
It is known that Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson, the Clinton campaigns opposition researcher who hired dossier writer Christopher Steele, pushed the server plot to then-Associate Deputy Attorney General Bruce Ohr. His wife, Nellie, worked for Mr. Simpson at Fusion GPS as an anti-Trump Russia investigator. According to Mr. Ohrs meeting notes, Mr. Simpson told him the server was a direct communication link to Alfa and proof of Trump-Russia collusion. Mr. Simpson also said an October 2016 article in The New York Times was wrong for discounting the server story, according to Mr. Ohr. As a go-between, Mr. Ohr sent Fusions information directly to the FBI, including to agent Peter Strzok, who led the Russia probe. Mr. Strzok was fired for sending a series of anti-Trump text messages to his lover, FBI attorney Lisa Page.
Now, newly revealed testimony from James Baker, the former FBI general counsel and close adviser to fired FBI Director James B. Comey, shows that Fusion tried another avenue inside the Obama administration. In closed-door testimony in October, Mr. Baker told lawmakers on a special House task force that he met with Michael Sussmann, a partner in the Perkins Coie law firm, on Sept. 16, 2016.
Perkins Coie had represented the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee, and funneled more than $1 million of their cash to Fusion, which paid Mr. Steele about $160,000 for his anti-Trump dossier. Rep. Jim Jordan, Ohio Republican, asked Mr. Baker if Mr. Sussmann, a cyber technology expert and former Justice Department attorney, pitched the Alfa server connection. Oh yes, I mean, that is what he told me about. Yeah, absolutely, he answered, according to a transcript first reported by The Epoch Times.
After conferring with bureau attorneys, Mr. Baker added: He was describing a what appeared to be a surreptitious channel of communications communication between some part of President Trumps, Ill say organization but it could be his businesses. I dont mean like The Trump Organization, per se. I mean his enterprises with which he was associated. Some part of that and a an organization associated with a Russian organization associated with the Russian Government. With his testimony, the public now knows that two Fusion-connected Clinton supporters Mr. Simpson and Mr. Sussmann gained access to the inner sanctums of the Obama law enforcement establishment to pitch a theory that proved bogus.
When Mr. Simpson appeared months later before the Senate Judiciary Committee, he testified that he had no opinion on the function of the supposed Trump-Alfa server. September 2016 was a busy time for Clinton allies trying to sell Russia-Trump stories. Mr. Steele, a former British intelligence officer, arrived in Washington from London to meet with reporters from The Washington Post, The New York Times, Yahoo News and other news sites. Yahoo News produced the first story on the dossier quoting Mr. Steele, but not by name, about supposed nefarious meetings in Moscow by Trumpcampaign volunteer Carter Page.
The next month, The New York Times published a story that deeply disappointed Mr. Simpson. The Times knocked down the collusion theme as well as the Alfa server conspiracy. That same day, Oct. 31, the liberal website Slate did what Mr. Simpson wanted. It published a story supporting the Alfa-Trump server conspiracy. The Clinton campaign, which had ballyhooed the Yahoostory, also tried to exploit the Slate piece as another example of Trump-Russia ties.
The Republican majoritys final report from the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence last year noted the Sussmann maneuvers in a footnote. It said Mr. Sussmann (his name redacted) had a one-on-one meeting with Mr. Baker and also shared Alfa server information with Slate, whose story Was a Trump Server Communicating with Russia? was written by Franklin Foer. Mr. Jordan disclosed in a letter to the U.S. attorney in Connecticut that Mr. Baker is under criminal investigation for leaking national security information to reporters. Mr. Bakers attorney revealed the probe as grounds for refusing to let his client answer questions on that subject. Mr. Baker was reassigned after Mr. Comeys firing and then left the FBI.
Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe was criticized by the Justice Department inspector general for allegedly lying to his investigators about leaks to the press. He, too, is under U.S. attorney investigation. The owners of Alfa Bank sued Fusion GPS for defamation in Washington for a dossier memo that said they paid bribes to Mr. Putin. They also are suing Mr. Steele in a London court.

Ho Hum, another breathless all CAPS headline and yet, still no one is frog marched.

COUNSEL: You mentioned you had dinner with Ms. Veselnitskaya on June 8th and 10th of 2016. Were you generally aware of her trip to the United States in June?
SIMPSON: I was. She had trouble getting a visa and the lawyers -- there was some drama over whether she could get a visa. This would have been a recurring issue in the case. You know, our lawyers believed that the Justice Department wasinterfering with her visas because they wanted to inhibit her from collaborating with us on the case, but I don't have any independent knowledge of her visa issues. I just remember that was an issue. I remember that at the last minute she got a visa to come to this Appellate Court hearing on June 9th in New York, and that was the way that she persuaded them to give her a visa was that she needed to attend a hearing which was on an appeal of a District Court ruling related to the disqualification motion that had been filed by William Browder against Baker Hostetler after he was ordered to give testimony. So that's the history of that court hearing, which was after the Court said he couldn't get out of the subpoena and he had to give testimony, he then triggered a new delay in his testimony by filing a disqualification motion.
COUNSEL: And that hearing was on June 8th; is that correct?
SIMPSON: I believe it was June 9th.
COUNSEL: Did you have any other information about Ms. Veselnitskaya's itinerary or intended activities on this trip?
SIMPSON: No. I mean, I can tell you what I knew. I knew she was coming in I guess on the 8th. I don't have a clear recollection of the dinner, but I know -- I believe we had a dinner. The problem is I had more than one. So I don't have a clear recollection of it. Anyway, I saw her the next day in court at this hearing and I'm sure we exchanged greetings, but, as I say, she speaks Russian and I speak English. I think she was with Anatoli and she left afterwards. I know she didn't tell me any other plans she had.
COUNSEL: So you had dinner the 8th, saw her in court on the 9th; is that correct?
SIMPSON: Yes.
COUNSEL: And dinner again on the 10th?
SIMPSON: In D.C.
COUNSEL: Did you see her any other time?
SIMPSON: Not that I recall.
Excerpt from the article:
"...Newly released Department of Justice records appear to conflict with testimony that Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson gave to Congress in 2017 about the timeline of his interactions with top DOJ official Bruce Ohr.
Simpson claimed in testimony to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence on Nov. 14 that he did not have contact with any FBI or DOJ officials regarding the infamous Steele dossier until after the 2016 election. But Ohrs emails, which have been provided to Congress, show that he and Simpson were in contact as early as August 2016.
Ohrs wife, a Russia expert named Nellie Ohr, worked for Fusion GPS on its anti-Trump research project. Ohr was also in close contact with Christopher Steele, the former British spy Simpson hired to investigate then-candidate Donald Trumps links to Russia..."
Thanks for the post. Anyone with interest and a few hours of research knew this already. George Webb laid all this out nearly two years ago.
Nothing here most of us have not been fully aware of for well over a year. IMHO the lack of a single person being held to account for any of this is pretty clear evidence of my point: It aint Our Country anymore and has not been for a while.
No, they don't "belong to Trump". That's the problem. That's the essence of the Deep State. Democrat administration get to fill slots, and Republican administrations get slow-rolled on confirmations, so the same people stay there.
Heck, Dan Bongino has been trumpeting this for years, but I would bet 90% of the American public has no idea none.
I know I am preaching to the choir here, it is what we do.
Other people simply don’t care.
For a long time I cared. For almost all of my 20 years as a freeper I cared passionately. Over the course of about the last year I have come to realize I was investing may too much of my passion in a thing that had ceased to be long ago. It was depressing for a brief while until I realized that there is hope not in America because America is a lost cause right now. Perhaps in what comes after there can be hope.
I understand your sentiment completely. I am not ready to cede to the Left yet, and they are backing conservatives further and further into a corner.
The eventual and inevitable backlash will be a good thing.
Amen
There is apathetic laziness
