Rand must be as rotten a neighbor as he is a senator.

Selfish, grandstander, shallow always craving attention because he “dares” to be different.

At what age does a this man grow up?

I don’t understand how so many otherwise sensible constitutional conservatives don’t grasp the peril here.

This isn’t a parlor game. 90% of the heroin and fentanyl in this country is imported through the southern border. Our fellow American lay dead across the fruited plains from that poison. That is the very definition of an “emergency.” There is no more bipartisan beltway policy than open borders. POTUS has declared a national emergency because Rand Paul and the rest of Congress have violated their sworn oaths to defend this country.

It is amusing to see the open borders libertarians suddenly become dyed in the wool “Constitutionalist” on this issue simply to undermine POTUS and the MAGA agenda. The fact is we won’t have a function constitution without a secure border. Sorry, if those facts interrupt your virtue signalling. Buy a clue before it’s too late and the uniparty swamps us.

Paul is a “spoil sport” libertarian. If the money for “national defense” has been voted on and passed, i.e. appropriated, the President, as C-in-C can use it anyway he thinks is best for the national defense.

Collins is a fool and Murkowski is a sleazebag ahole.

I don’t know why Tillis went along with the enemy.

He's merely supporting his open-borders / DIABN position, as he always does.

Why working class Americans voted with their middle finger

2016 Republican primary popular votes
Donald J. Trump 14,015,993
Rand Paul 66,788

"Now you can be principally correct, Rand, but in doing so, you will lose the Republic. I have come to believe that there are certain real emergencies that do call for choosing survival over principle."

===============

Well said. But I doubt any of these folks who are saying they are acting on "principle" are not acting based on Ben Franklins......or secrets they don't want to be exposed?

Where will their principles be in the face of the criminal illegal aliens destroying our country?

The Angel Moms need to be paying a visit to the offices of these "principled" senators, often and loudly.

Anyone who opposes the emergency declaration is certainly supporting the CAUSE of open borders.

The Congress also gave the President the authority - that’s Constitutional.

Rand is a bright guy, but he is consciously dumbing down to the stupidity level of his constituents, which is dumbing down a lot.

I wish there was some way of showing his constituents how little he thinks of them, but they are too dumb.

Lotta dumb people.

No you are not.

What you are is ignorant. The law has been on the books since 1976 and been used by EVERY President since.

This is a perfectly Constitutional act. IF you don’t like the law, change it. What you do NOT do is help the Socialist Dems impose their hysteric infantile ignorance in place OF THE LAW.

The ignorant idiocy on the right is getting as bad as the inantile hysterics on the Left

Seems like Paul’s issue is with the bill that Congress passed back in 1976. You can question the wisdom of that bill, but not try to claim that Trump is doing something unconstitutional by acting in accordance with it.

Also, of course, this is a legit national sovereignty emergency and the dollars are a pittance on a relative scale. I see zero excuse for constitutionally disputing the president’s right to follow through as he has described.

What’s up with his vote here?

Never trust a libertarian to defend a border.

It’s a matter of principle with them, even when they pretend to be conservatives instead.

I cant agree with your point on the constitution. I doubt he knows that much about what the founders meant when they wrote it.

Not sure which word of mine you disagreed with. I agree with you that Rand doesn't get the Constitution at all--as in "throwing the Constitution out with the bath water."

Freegards, in any case.

All things concerning foreign policy is set within the hands of the executive. Why? Because the founders knew that the congress was inherently open to corruption by foreigners.

Congress can either go along with the executive, or deny it. In the case of invasions, they are required, by oath, to defend the states. If not, then the executive has to take the actions.

The oath of office means nothing to these SOBs.

Rand knows that, and is trying to sidestep it by “his” interpretations of the US Constitution.

I cant disagree with you after further reflection.

Further reflection..If the thing goes to court and the courts rule against Trump. If I were Trump I would cause the states to call up citizens militias to solve the problem.

Lets see WTF they do then.

Obama’s illegal DACA didn’t get any opposition from our opposition party.

Funny how that works huh?

I fully agree with you and as for what’s up with this vote?

I’m not sure as far as each RINO voting for the resolution, I would guess they’re no different than the Rats when it comes to wanting open borders.

Of course they don’t want to come right out and say it so they try to use the constitutional excuse but they’re dead wrong, it’s constitutional because they gave the presidency the power of the emergency declaration.
