That’s really funny. (Well, not really for those who had to/ have to live through it.)
I recall watching a video of a former Russian and how if they saw a line they would jump into it. Didn’t matter what store they were lining up at - they would just get in line. And the store didn’t matter, as often the owner of the shoe shop might get his hands on a bunch of meat, so would sell the meat.
In Russia, you wait for bread.
