“After my tears and disappointment at 2:00AM, my distress compelled me to pray harder, and trust in God’s sovereignty”
I was extremely distressed when it appeared prior to the 2012 election that Obama might beat Romney. I prayed for relief from the distress.
A voice from above said “Rise above it, God is in control and things are unfolding exactly as they are supposed to unfold.”
Immediately, I was lifted up in prayer and found peace. While the peace slips away occasionally and I must focus stronger on prayer, it has been with me ever since.
During a National Day of Prayer during the Civil War, a group of Methodist ministers said to Abraham Lincoln, “We pray that God is on our side.”
Lincoln replied, “That is not my concern. But that we are on God’s side is my concern.”
Very profound truth!!!
Jesus’s most important commandment, “Love God “ should include “Trust God.”
