Ok, I take back the mean stuff I said about him, I just listened to about 30 minutes of his testimony. He pretty much backed up Trump and did not throw him under any buses. He merely said there was no traditional military threat at the moment from the south. But he did say securing the border was a big and wide reaching element of national security.
Then he went into a discussion about needing south facing radars that were scrapped after the cold war as Chinese threats from South America could materialize.
It pains me to defend a USAF general, but he was on board for troops to the border, and did not mite on several attempts to get him to dispute the National Emergency declared on the border.
But in my defense, I didn’t know that until I broke a FR rule and went to the source and listened to the whole testimony...or at least 30 min of it.

It even said, in the brief excerpt:
“Under pointed questioning from senators...”
Which means they were trying to twist his testimony.
