City Councilman Jumaane Williams defeated 16 candidates on Tuesday to become New York Citys public advocate.
New Yorkers cast their ballots in a special election that was triggered in January when Letitia James left the office to become the state attorney general. Williams, a Democrat, won the election with 32 percent of the vote and 89 percent of precincts reporting as of 10:20 p.m., according to the Board of Elections results.
Williams will hold the position at least until the end of this year. There will be a primary in June and a general election in November to determine who will complete the full term left open by James...

Great. A loudmouth firebrand black racist who demands things. Just what we (don’t) need. There was only ONE Republican on the ballot in a field of about 17, so I voted for him. I see (surprise!) he didn’t win.
Low turnout and overwhelming Dem population who seemed to solidify behind 1 candidate.
For a job with no duties but to break non existing ties and replace a dead mayor.
Now resign from Fox.
2 Republicans.
“Jumaane?” Where do they get these names, and why? Imagine telling your child his name is from outer space.
Now resign from Fox.
LOL if only it were true!
That’s for sure. Today Juan Williams got mad when Waters attacked Socialism. Williams is extremely irritating and disgusting.
There were two Republicans but the media made sure we didn’t find out about the real one.
Jumaane is not that bad. I prefer him over Ulrich the Traitor.
By the way, he went to Brooklyn Tech. Shows we don’t need to destroy the science high schools in an attempt to “integrate” them.
Although Manny Alicandro, the Republican who should have won, went to Regis, which is just as prestigious. He ran for NY State attorney general and is actually on the right side on every issue. Watch his interview with Joe Piscopo when he was running for AG. He will be back.
Probably from the movie “Jumanji”.
Juan Williams is still trying to prove his bonafides since NPR dumped him for not being liberal enough.
I think you are spot on. He’s doing a good job of it because he’s more of a fool than ever.
