It is almost like the word means nothing like you have stated

No, not almost.

A word that has no fixed definition and that can be used to give one person, or the state, power over another, ACTUALLY means nothing.

If someone, or some agency, accuses YOU of being a racist, you cannot prove them wrong - because, even though you think you know what it means - it really means everything, or nothing.

and the FakeNewsMSM too.

watch for the propaganda in the video. Hudak’s 2020 quote has video of Trump only.
the attack on Hayden Williams’ is an “alleged attack” (unlike Smollett’s hoax with mostly omitted “alleged”). they only play the final hit by the attacker of Hayden Williams.
note they try to insinuate attacks on Trump supporters are matched by attacks on Dems:

27 Feb: ABC13: Exclusive: Activist talks about alleged attack at UC Berkeley
by SCOTT THUMAN, Sinclair Broadcast Group
WASHINGTON (SBG) - Another political debate involving fists, not just words, was recently caught on camera - this time on a college campus.
But why are we seeing them happen more often and what can help stop this disturbing trend?

Conservative activist Hayden Williams claims he was attacked at the University of California at Berkeley while he was working as a field representative for the Leadership Institute. His black eye still as obvious as the overall problem...
And it seems these days, anyone is a target. A series of violent moments on campus have been captured on camera before and after the 2016 election with what appears to be more frequency...

“Politics can motivate us at times to be our best and at other times to be our worst,” said John Hudak, a senior fellow with the Brookings Institution, a D.C.-based think tank.
Hudak says the outrage sometimes reflects the extreme political passions, coming from both sides...

This month, a U.S. Coast Guard lieutenant near Washington, D.C. was arrested and later alleged to have a hit list of Democrats and journalists to target...

Hudak also predicted that such arguments that escalate into altercations will likely become more common as the 2020 presidential race heats up.
“This is going to be a campaign in 2020 that is emotion fueled,” said Hudak. To curb this trend, he said politicians should more publicly discourage and denounce any violence - or be prepared, to see more violence.
