An American oil worker who was abducted in Yemen in 2017 has been reunited with his family, the White House announced Monday.
President Donald Trump and U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo confirmed that Danny Burch, a Texas man who had been captured while living in Yemen, was recovered and reunited with his wife and children after 18 months in captivity.
"In 2017, U.S. citizen Danny Burch was taken hostage from Sanaa, Yemen. Today he is safe and secure, and is reunited with his wife and children. " Pompeo said.
Trump and the U.S. State Department also thanked the United Arab Emirates for its support in Burch's recovery.

He had worked on oil rigs in Yemen since 1994, traveling between Yemen and East Texas, until he moved to Yemen full time in 2005, where he married Forsa and the couple had three children.
Glad he is free, and I hope the ransom was not too high.
Yemen is not a smart place to be.
More winning!
Will we be hearing about this on Morning Joe, GMA, and the VIEW ?
I hear they don’t have too many Isis sympathizers in the biggest oil region in the world, Midland, Texas... try working there.
Why live in Yemen. No women in TX?
Divorced from his American wife in 2000. Converted to Islam before he remarried. 65. Worked for Yemen state oil company. So will be continue living in Yemen? Fool!
Trump, so far has released 17
hostages. I can’t find much about how many Obama freed especially without paying money for them. I cannot find a number.

Agreed... like that missionary family that were taken hostage in Yemen.
If only they had gotten Otto out sooner. But at least he died with family at his side.
I heard NOTHING about this man before. Glad he is home.
Pay was probably pretty good. Wonder if they cut it off while he was under detention since he wasn’t doing his job.
I suspect Otto was nearly fatally injured at the very beginning of his incarceration. The Norks just took care of him so he didnt actually die in their custody. Such a sad thing to watch him being carried off that plane.....the suffering he endured. Glad he is now at rest. Prayers for his family.
There were a very few mentions of Mr. Burch anywhere on the Internet from 18 months ago.
Maybe a scrubbing operation to clean up stories that make crazy Muslims look even crazier?
But where is home?
Yes so sad seeing him carried off that plane.
I saw story around time he was taken. Born in Louisiana. Grew up longview, tx. Married them divorced. Several brothers who had no contact for many years. But did help one brother who was down and out. That bro said he fell madly in love with his second wife.
