Amy’s dad, Jim Klobuchar, was a HUGE favorite among Minnesotans for his folksy, slice of life columns in the Star Tribune. He was a sort of Garrison Keillor of the print world. That’s how she got the name recognition and warm fuzzies from fellow travelers in this state.

I’m a native South Dakotan who has resided here for 35 years. The level of stupidity in Minnesota has always amazed me, in-laws included. Thankfully my husband and son are sane as well as our adopted little town. Minneapolis/St. Paul/Duluth are where the wackos reside. My apologies to the stalwart Freepers surviving in those environs - I put up with it until we just couldn’t take it anymore. I know everyone’s circumstances don’t allow a move.
