She’s also so friggin’ stupid that she doesn’t see the abject irony in, and hypocrisy of, her positions. “Billionaires paying to put up anti-progressive propaganda...”? What is so “progressive” about doing what every other elitist, self-serving, publicly-funded leech is doing?

The thing of it is, she's not directing those remarks toward people like you or me. They're aimed at the sort of people who naturally lean toward her type ... you know ... morons. What we think about her, she doesn't really care.

Probably true, but don’t forget: We get to pay her a pension for the rest of her life! That just pisses me off.

Every day Occasional Cortex makes new enemies in the Rat Party (especially in the NY Rat party).

She is extremely combative, breathtakingly stupid and uneducated.

She shall reap what she has sown. Looking forward to her inevitable come-uppance.

‘Billionaires paying to put up anti-progressive propaganda in Times Square is like the obscenely rich version of the scene where Michael Scott points to the Bubba Gump and saying ‘’This is it, this is the heart of civilization, right here’’.’

I’m with you. I’m an intelligent, educated person and I am capable of understanding a point or argument from someone even if I disagree. But her statement is so convoluted, I have no idea what she is saying, trying to say or imply. It’s just gibberish.

You’d be amazed at how much more information you can get from DM UK, but yes...you have to skate around the “news” about the Kardashians, rock stars last meal and the sushi joint, etc.

Exactly

there were many businesses large and small
that left the area over the years that provided
work
Borden Sunshine Adams Gum Cushman’s Loft
Eagle Electric Bickfords Fink Bread to name a few
my Dad had his own small business there for
decades too

(D) pols gave way too much of a voice to the loudmouth dummies
from one of the largest and worst housing NYC Projects the
Ravenswood Houses - despite their lack of qualifications
they demanded a private sector handout

Union thugs were looking for some baksheesh as well (such a nice
new HQ, shame if something happened to it)

Even more stunning the rejoicing from a (D) Greek State Senator whose
community known for their work ethic that helped
keep much of the area from
sinking to Ravenswood level as it transitioned
from industrial to quasi hipster status

“I don’t think any of those prospective 25,000 job holders would have given a damn who their paycheck came from as long as they could feed their families. This whole thing is about her, not the workers.”

Exactly. So when they have no choice but to go on welfare, and she continues screaming her socialist retoric, and how they can live off those evil rich folks, maybe SHE will get their votes! That’s what it’s all about, right?

Her response is more stupid than usual. She just complaining about “anti-progressive propaganda,” but not refuting any of the substance of the ad. She couldn’t have made a weaker, more ineffectual response than that.

Where are these tenants going to go?

The same place they'd go if the buildings burned to the ground tomorrow. It's one of the characteristics of a TENANT, isn't it?

A much better solution is to go to places such as Youngstown OH (just one example) where there wouldn’t be as much dislocation....the city is already all but abandoned.

A "better solution" for whom? For you? Certainly not for Amazon. They're looking to open a headquarters operation with 25,000 highly skilled employees. I'll bet there aren't more than 2,000 employees in the Youngstown area who would meet Amazon's needs -- so they'd have to hire people willing to relocate. When you're competing for labor with companies like Microsoft and Google, how many of these employees do you think are willing to pack everything up and move from Seattle or Silicon Valley to Youngstown, Ohio?

Right. LOL. It’s funny to see how well those people take it when they realize they’re being duped. Pat Buchanan played his interview very well. Andy Rooney’s was a disaster. LOL.

It’s really really stupid gibberish because she is conflating a comic
take on Times Square “tourist traps” and the actual history
relevance impact and exposure any signs and ads have historically had there. Thousands pass through by the minute and to her chagrin that ad will be seen by many.

More to the point, this is the kind of dolt who prefers
the squalid degenerate drug and prostitution laden
Forty Deuce instead of its more
commercial and attractive incarnations. It took political
will to transform Times Square back into something appealing
to all but that will was lacking in LIC last week.

BTW this nitwits district (14th CD) spans Queens and East Bronx
(Some of which is as suburban as you can get in NYC)
But it is adjacent to the proposed Amazon site CD (12th)
So this unwise Latina was given a voice to oppose which she had
no business having
