They’re dirt poor at home, with no schooling. They’re not used to learning. They come here and bring the only ways they know. Their language is verbal, hardly written. They live here as a clan, in apartments, with a male elder ruling all.
Young Somalis here are morphing toward the American ways — using deldorant and condoms, speaking in English, women shaving, American clothing, etc. They want to be like Americans. Gonna take a couple generations.
