My understanding is that this is simply a campaign to get governments to stop executing people for being gay. Surely any Christian person can get behind that. If you want to think about it this way, consider this to be a way to keep people who would otherwise be refugees fleeing in fear for their lives in their own countries.

I don't know if there are any countries that execute people just for being gay. There are undoubtedly some Muslim countries that execute people for having engaged in homosexual sexual behavior.
I believe George Washington had a couple of soldiers executed in the Continental Army for sodomy. Times change, attitudes change.
